Membership Survey for 2005 – 2006 Chapter Year

1. Monthly Meetings

A. The chapter in considering holding monthly meetings, which would offer 1 hour Continuing Professional Development and provide better opportunities to network with fellow professionals than the day-long seminars. The meetings would be held at various sites around the Tampa Bay area, and often be in conjunction with other Tampa Bay area professional organizations. The meetings would vary among breakfast, lunch or after work events, in an attempt to give as many of our members as possible a chance to attend. These meetings would be in addition to our traditional four day-long events in October, December, February and April.

Attendance Committee: To encourage and improve overall attendance at chapter events and strive for regular attendance by Chapter members.

Hospitality Committee: To help new members become better acquainted with other members and the Institute's and Chapter's leadership, activities and organizational structure.
Meeting Arrangements Committee: To assist the VP of Education in meeting arrangements and to create an enjoyable atmosphere through a choice of meeting locations.
Programs Committee: To assist the VP of Education in providing a challenging educational program on subjects related to internal auditing and of interest to internal auditors with the purpose of improving the auditing competence and effectiveness of Chapter members.

D. There are several additional activities that the Chapter pursues each year, which promote the profession and give participants the opportunity for professional and personal development. Would you be willing to participate in one of these activities? Check any that apply:
Academic Relations & Research Committee: Develop and supports relationship through educational programs among practitioners, educators, students, and business/government communities.
Editorial Committee: To keep members informed of chapter editorial activities and accomplishments and to supply the IIA's global headquarters with material for IIA publications.
Certification Committee: To develop marketing plans and recognition programs to promote IIA certifications. To administer the IIA's certification exams twice a year.

 

E. There are many administrative tasks that must be performed in order to ensure the success of the Chapter. Most of these tasks require only a few minutes each month, or a couple of days once a year. Would you be willing to participate in one of these committees? Check any that apply:
Audit Committee: To arrange for the timely audit of the chapter records at the close of each chapter year and the submission of the audit report.
Awards Committee: To establish and monitor the Chapter awards program.
Government Relations Committee: To ensure member and IIA services to auditors employed by governmental and other public institutions, and to encourage the growth of government auditor membership.
Newsletter Committee: To assist the VP of Communication in assembling and producing the electronic newsletter to chapter members containing useful and informative material such as chapter news, IIA news, and internal auditing information.
Publicity/Public Relations Committee: To develop publicity material that will create public awareness of the internal auditing profession, the IIA and the Chapter and the accomplishments of its members. To promote meetings and seminars through the local media.
Website Committee: To assist the VP of Communication in maintaining the Website as a repository of information that will create public awareness of the IIA and the Chapter and provide on-line services to our members.
CAP Reporting Committee: To assist the secretary to appraise past chapter activity, develop current year chapter plans and track current year chapter activities using the CAP (Chapter Activity Points) reporting process.
Nominating Committee: To assist the President in identifying members for leadership positions in the chapter and to administer the annual election of Officers and Board of Governors members.
