Intermediate ACL and CAAT Users Unite!

A new community of auditors/fraud investigators using software has been created, of which I am a member. We are currently looking for others interested in collaborating on the use of audit software to

  • advance their ability to meet their audit/investigation mission
  • improve their client’s business intelligence and associated return on investment
  • improve their efficiency in the audit/investigation

The community is free, although membership is limited to those that are approved by our selection committee. Our current membership focus for the community is intermediate to advanced users of audit software. Those involved in the community will be able to suggest projects for collaboration by the group (i.e., Auditing Accounts Payable, Auditing PeopleSoft Applications, etc). A fully-functional message board is used to facilitate the sharing with project results summarized and sent to all members on a periodic basis. The community is hosted by AuditSoftware.Net (http://www.auditsoftware.net/community), an independent site working to increase the use of audit software worldwide.

Benefits to members include:

  • Provides practical answers and tools to key questions and needs that participants have in the use of audit software.
  • Gives a view of what other audit teams are using in the way of audit software tools and thinking.
  • Increases participant’s audit software knowledge (possibly even beyond my current job description).
  • Expands network opportunities for participants.
  • Sets participant apart from peers as an expert in the field of audit software usage.
  • Provides an avenue to give back to the profession.
  • Provides a way for participants to share their passion in the area.
  • Provides you with access to other experts, to share audit programs and to get help with your analysis efforts.

Those interested in applying to the group should complete the below survey: http://www.auditsoftware.net/community/ascop/caatscan.htm.

We look forward to working with those interested in further collaborating on the above,
